Rome and the Horde meet across a fog-choked wood. No dice, no variance — and no piece tells you what it is until it fights.

  • Deterministic combat: every fight is arithmetic you can do before you commit
  • Two armies that play differently — Rome holds a line, the Horde strikes out of cover

What connects them

Hidden information, played straight

Neither game hides anything behind a dice roll. What they hide is identity — you know a piece is there, and you find out what it is by attacking it, scouting it, or guessing wrong. Everything else is on the table for both players to read.

That makes them games you lose to a better read rather than to bad luck, and it is the reason a match is worth thinking about between turns.
